Wouldn’t you love it if you could go back in time and sustain the moments you really loved, cherish the memories you feel you should’ve, fast-forwarded to the phase where you’re over the pain, erase the mistakes you’ve made and countless other things. Imagine you had a chance at a rewind button and could change the outcome of your entire story. Would you take that chance?
If this question was posed to me a few months back, I would have said ‘YES’ without a second glimpse or thought. But as time passed, I realised that the value of our lives would become meaningless if there was even the slightest chance of this vivid fantasy coming into existence. Yes, if I choose to rewind, I could change all my poorly judged decisions and could even become the most cheerful person on the planet. But guess what? I wouldn’t have learnt anything. My growth as a human being would have been stagnant and I would never have learnt the importance of certain principles in life. How would I have realised the importance of a loved one if I hadn’t lost one? The key to success if not for failure? The value of trust if not for betrayal? The seriousness of commitment if not for recklessness?
Everything happens for a reason. We should take it in a positive way and make the best use of it. Remember that Confidence isn’t ‘I KNOW THIS WILL HAPPEN.’ It is ‘I’LL BE FINE EVEN IF IT DOESN’T.’ Learn from your past mistakes because they could be the key to making your future brighter than ever. So toss that rewind button into the path that lay behind you because that’s where it belongs.
